The Life Commitment Gala returns on September 19th for its 17th year, continuing a powerful tradition of community, compassion, and impactful giving.

For nearly two decades, this event has played a vital role in sustaining the Dr. Peter Centre’s work here in Vancouver, supporting individuals facing some of the most complex health and social challenges in our community. Every dollar raised stays local and directly funds the Centre’s therapeutic programs and services that stabilize health, build trust, and reconnect people to care.
The needs we are seeing today are not only growing. They are becoming more complex.
At the Dr. Peter Centre, we support individuals living with overlapping challenges, including HIV, mental health concerns, substance use, and unstable housing. Many have been underserved or left behind by traditional systems of care. Our work is about meeting people where they are and providing integrated, person-centred support that improves health outcomes and creates pathways toward stability.
This is the work happening every day inside our walls. It matters now more than ever.
This year marks a new chapter for the Life Commitment Gala, led by our dedicated committee: Katherine Evans, Luigi Ronchi, Mike Sider, Aerin Knight, and Sarah Evans. In a time of uncertainty and increasing need, we are choosing to step forward, not step back.

The 2025 Life Commitment Gala, presented by RBC, was an extraordinary evening of generosity, purpose, storytelling, and inspiring vision for a more equitable future. Together, our community raised nearly $1 million in support of the Dr. Peter Centre’s Day Health programming.

In Support of the Dr. Peter Centre
The Dr. Peter Centre manages a Day Health program, a 24-hour licensed care residence with specialized nursing care, and an enhanced supportive housing program, to provide comprehensive, stigma-free care for people living with HIV/AIDS, mental illness, substance use, and homelessness.
