Nursing Positions - Dr. Peter Residence
The Dr. Peter Centre provides Comfort Care for people living with HIV/AIDS. Comfort Care is holistic health care with a commitment to acceptance so that strength and hope are possible. In addition to HIV/AIDS, most people who are cared for at the centre also have multiple illnesses, disabilities and disadvantaged life circumstances.
The centre has openings for permanent and casual RNs/RPNs in its 24-hour care residence.
Responsibilities include ongoing nursing assessment, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care using a self-care model in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team in a supported living environment.
The successful candidates will have:
- Current practicing membership with RNABC or CRPNBC
- Current CPR Level C certification
- Knowledge/Experience in HIV related acute and/or community care settings
- Knowledge/Experience with addictions and mental health issues
- Knowledge/Experience working with marginalized populations in a community living environment
- Knowledge of harm reduction approaches
- Conflict resolution skills
