Team Dr. Peter & the Scotiabank Group Charity Challenge

Dear Friends,

I am absolutely thrilled to be the Captain of Team Dr. Peter for the Scotiabank Group Charity Challenge on Sunday, June 27th.

Running in the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Torch Relay provided me with an opportunity to bring HIV/AIDS awareness to the forefront. Now, running for the Dr. Peter AIDS Foundation allows me to help raise crucial funds to support the Dr. Peter Centre and the innovative care it provides.

Tiko Kerr

As many of you know, I was in a race for my life just four years ago after developing drug resistance to HIV/AIDS medication. I fought for the chance to receive an experimental treatment and won back my life.

But there are those who are less fortunate. The Dr. Peter Centre is there to help. The Centre provides a diverse range of services to help people get the skilled nursing care, nutritious meals, counselling and support they need. The Centre helps individuals strengthen their sense of self and build connections to experiences and other people.

Today, I am happy to give back. And I am not alone! Staff, Volunteers, Board and Committee Members as well as Donors have joined Team Dr. Peter. Together we have set a goal to raise $25,000.

I encourage you to support Team Dr. Peter, whether by sponsoring the Team, an individual or by joining yourself.

Every dollar counts! 100% of the money raised goes directly to the Dr. Peter AIDS Foundation – and Scotiabank gives another $5,000 to the charity that raises the largest amount of pledges. So let’s get out there!

Together we are changing the world of HIV/AIDS care.
