Dr. Peter 20/20: Celebrating the 20th Anniversary of The Dr. Peter Diaries on CBC-TV

It all started on the CBC Evening News on September 10, 1990:
“I’m going to be introducing you to someone with AIDS to help provide a name, a face, and an identity to this disease. The person I’m going to introduce you to is myself. I’m a doctor, but I’m also a patient – a patient with AIDS.”

Twenty years ago, Dr. Peter inspired a generation to change the way they thought about people living with HIV/AIDS.

Vision
In the next twenty years, the Dr. Peter AIDS Foundation will continue to contribute locally and globally to changing the world of HIV/AIDS care.
Until there’s a cure…
On Mother's Day...
These little golden earrings I hold in my hand are a Mother’s Day gift from Indra, my only daughter. When I look at them, they remind me how far we’ve journeyed over the last 25 years.
I remember Indra at 17, a beautiful young girl, who left home because she thought she was a burden to her family.

Make the Leap from a Donor to an Ambassador
For Gord Baizley, the Dr. Peter Ambassador Program is a new way to think about giving.
“When I used to think about donating to a charity it was always about big amounts – amounts that I didn’t have. With the Ambassador Program, I can give what I can and see it make a big difference”.
Message from the Executive Director
You may have heard in the news recently that the BC Government and the BC Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS announced a $48 million Seek and Treat initiative.
