Measuring the Impact of Seven Day Service – the First Four Months
We recorded increases across our program in the first four months of seven day service:
- attendance increased by 25%*
- overall contacts between our clinical team and clients increased by 28%*
- basic support contacts increased by 23%*
In some cases, there were enormous increases reflecting the fact that we can now offer more opportunities to engage our clients in specialized counselling and therapy programs, such as art therapy where attendance increased 148%*.
The most telling increases were recorded in the area of nursing. We have long known that many of our clients require daily support for their HIV treatment and medication needs and the numbers show significant increases in key nursing support services.

* Percentages reflect changes in total contacts between the period August 1, 2010 – November 30, 2010 (the four months prior to seven day service) and December 1, 2010 – March 31, 2011 (the first four months of seven day service).
