Executive Director
Maxine Davis has been Executive Director of the Dr. Peter AIDS Foundation since 1997. She first joined the organization to oversee implementation of the Dr. Peter Centre Day Health Program.
Davis’ professional career has focused on community health care in Metro Vancouver. In her previous position as Assistant Director, Continuing Care Division, Vancouver Health Department (now Vancouver Coastal Health Authority), she was responsible for case management and contracted services.
Davis is passionate about making positive social change to improve the health and lives of people living with HIV/AIDS. She has contributed to local, national and international initiatives, particularly in relation to how HIV/AIDS intersects with mental illness, addiction and homelessness.
Davis graduated from Memorial University (BA, Social Work) in 1973. She serves on a number of Advisory Committees, including the BC Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS, and is a member of the International AIDS Society, GLISA North America Outgames Society, the Keeping the Door Open Society and the Vancouver Board of Trade.
