Thank you to the guest, performers, sponsors and volunteers who made the fifth annual Voices of Hope concert a success. Voices of Hope is a World AIDS Day concert in partnership with Casey House in Toronto and La Maison du Parc in Montreal and sponsored nationally by the M.A.C AIDS Fund, Franklin Templeton, Gilead, Merck, TELUS, and ViiV Healthcare. Performers at the Vancouver concert included Ali Milner, In Medias Res, Ben Sigston, Hilary Grist and a special presentation of "Affirmation" by the Vancouver Men's Chorus.
The Dr. Peter AIDS Foundation, La Maison du Parc and Casey House are three leading HIV/AIDS organizations in Canada providing clinical treatment, counselling, and support services to people living with HIV/AIDS. In a true demonstration of leadership, these organizations have collaborated to create Voices of Hope/Voix d'Espoir - a national event on World AIDS Day with a goal to raise public awareness within Canada about HIV/AIDS, including the need for support and understanding of people living with HIV/AIDS; the need for ongoing healthcare, education, and prevention initiatives; the need to raise funds to support programs and services for people living with HIV/AIDS in our respective cities; and the reality that HIV/AIDS is once more becoming a threat to the lives of an increasing number of Canadians.
