This Christmas you can support the participants of Dr. Peter Centre day health program by providing gift certificates in smaller denominations ($5 - $20) from Shoppers Drug Mart, Safeway or Marketplace IGA to be given as Christmas presents. Participants can the n provide for themselves and their famil ies .

For those who call Dr. Peter Centre home...
The Dr. Peter Centre has 24 people in residence. They live, eat and celebrate within these walls and know that this is their home. During the Christmas season and celebration we would like to provide gifts for our residents. We hope to raise $1200 to dedicate towards some essentials plus some holiday treats. That is $50 per resident in the Dr. Peter Centre. Please give generously with the knowledge that your gift is making a difference in the lives of one of our residents. A Special Treat.
A note from the centre's nutrition manager: One of my greatest joys is to try and make each resident feel special and cared for during their stay. Custom breakfast ordered by the residents makes them feel empowered, important and in charge of their lives. When I have the chance, I like to bring in my own waffle iron and make fluffy, Belgian waffles with toppings to order. It is a positive experience for all of us. With the speed of a commercial Belgian waffle baker, we could do this more often and also include the day program participants. Sometimes it is the smallest gestures that yield the greatest rewards.
