Opening Day, September 25, 2003
It’s our First Anniversary in our New Home, and You’re Invited to the Party!
The Dr. Peter Centre will soon be celebrating its
1st anniversary in its new, permanent location at 1110 Comox Street.
Construction of the new Centre began in the summer of 2002 and was
completed for move in on September 25, 2003. The new Centre is the
continuation of Dr. Peter
Jepson-Young’s legacy of providing Comfort Care for people
living with HIV/AIDS.
The New Centre has allowed for greater capacity in the Day Health
Program and the Residence has expanded from 10 rooms to 24 private
assisted-living suites with 24-hour nursing care. The Centre continues
to serve those people who have, in addition to HIV/AIDS, multiple
illnesses, disabilities and disadvantaged life circumstances.
Please join us at the Dr. Peter Centre on Saturday, September 25 for our First
Anniversary Open House Celebration. For more information on this
anniversary event and others during the week of September 19, visit our
Calendar of
Events.

Week after week, I walk up the steps to the Dr. Peter Centre for a two-hour volunteer shift in the Dr. Peter Centre Residence. Whether it is learning how to make a fresh brew of coffee, or witnessing something deep and insightful into human nature, I always learn something new. Every time I go, this is the case. I have yet to prove myself wrong... read more»

Nicole Parton and David Elkins
Nicole Parton and David Elkins are long-standing supporters of the Dr. Peter Centre. Following a recent visit by Nicole and David, we received this letter:
Dear Friends of the Dr. Peter Centre: My husband and I recently had the privilege of touring the Dr. Peter Centre in Vancouver. The experience was so moving for both of us that I asked Dr. Peter’s parents, Bob and Shirley Young, if we might share our thoughts with you. These words from the heart, are spontaneous...
